Victorian Christmas

This is a card I made for one of my friends for Christmas.  I can't for the life of me remember where the digi came from, but I have a few from this range.  I coloured her in with Promarkers and then mounted on one some Island Indigo Stampin Up card and punched the surround with a Martha Stewart edge and corner snowflake punch.  The background paper is an old My Minds Eye one.

Thanks for looking

Molly Bloom Set of Christmas Cards

Here are a set of three Christmas Cards that I made from the amazing Molly Bloom Christmas Magazine.  The magazine came with papers, ribbons, buttons and stamps and was a fantastic buy.  Unfortunately I only me these three cards from the kit but I am having a craft day with my friends in early January and we have decided we are going to spend the morning making cards for Christmas 2013 with this kit.

You can still get this great magazine from ebay if you want, it is well worth the meagre price of £7.99 or check out the Molly Bloom website for local stockists.

I will not try to keep my blog up to date every other day (mmmm, we'll see how that goes)

LOTV Pom Pom Girl Card

I made this card, again using some very old stash.  The papers and embellishments are all from a HOTP co-ordinated set that I loved but never used.

The stamp is a LOTV one, called Pom Pom, she is so cute.

Mo Manning Gaming Boy Card

Here is a card I made a while ago, as I keep forgetting to photograph my cards.

The card is made using a really old HOTP kit of paper and embellishments which included the papers in the background, the card ribbon border and the little family tag.  The kit also came with the co-ordinating button and ribbon, so really easy to make as everything was already there to match to.

Simply a bit of colouring on the Mo Manning digistamp and the card was made - hey presto!

Thanks for looking.

John Byars Guitar Player Vintage Card

Where does the time go?  Almost a month since my last post, yet I have made so many cards and not photographed them or blogged them.

I was asked at work to make a card for someone who was into guitars, art and photography so I had a look through my stash and came up with this guitar card.  I think it was what the lady wanted.  I do find it hard to make mens cards as I miss putting the ribbons and bows on so buttons and twine had to do on this occasion.

Papers are from Trimcraft - New Leaf paper pad
Stamp - John Byars for Papermania/Docrafts
Sentiment stamps - My Family from Stampin up
Buttons - My stash, no idea where from

Michael Powell Beach Huts Retirement Card

Here is a Michael Powell design of Beach Huts which I used for a recent retirement card.

The stamped image was coloured in with Promarkers to match the DCWV background striped paper.  I then mounted this onto DCWV textured card stock.  I stamped a LOTV sentiment and added this onto a scalloped circle punched out of some more textured card stock.

I think it worked quite well and the recipient was very happy.  Even more so as the boat has the same name as his beloved puppy, Molly.

Stampin Up Fresh Vintage Cards

Here are a couple of cards I made using the Stampin Up Fresh Vintage stamp set.  This is a fab set, that unfortunately was one of the Saleabration sets so no longer available, apart from on ebay.  I used it with the Everyday Enchantment papers, also no longer available - sorry.  The colours used were Rose Red and Baja Breeze, which are still available.  A snippet of Rose Red seam binding tied on the cards finishes the design off.

I was really quite proud of these first few attempts with my Stampin Up Fresh Vintage set of stamps.  This idea came from someone who I follow on my blog, but I can't remember who, so apologies in advance.  I have now placed a huge order and am part of a Virtual Hostess Club (with allthingsstampy.co.uk) so I am sure I will be posting more cards as I make them.

Bunny Baby Birth Cards

Here are three cards similar to yesterday's post only this time using a cute little bunny.  Again I have had this stamp for absolutely ages and I think it even came free with a magazine.

The background papers are Nana's DCWV ones and the sentiments are LOTV.

These three and yesterday's three were pretty quick to do so in two evenings I managed to make all six.  Good going for me!

Baby Birth Sheepy Cards

Here are a selection of sheepy baby birth cards that I made for work.  I tried to keep them very simple as they were given to staff members who had a baby.

I think it all worked ok, I will list tomorrow the bunny versions that I also made.

The stamp is an old Wild Rose Studio one, I think it was one of the first stamps I ever bought and is an old reliable one that I pick up quite often.  The papers are all DCWV and mainly from the Nana's sets.  The sentiments are from LOTV.

Hot Diggity Dog - Birthday and Good Luck Cards

Here are a couple of Hot Diggity Dog cards I made.  One is for a friend who is moving offices and one is a plain Happy Birthday card.

They are both made on Craftwork Cards shaped blank cards and I have used Stampin Up ink over the bottom emobssed edge of the card.  The background paper, sticker main designs and sentiments are all from the Hot Diggity Dog range, and I have to say I adore them.

Really simple cards, need to get some Christmas cards done now, as simply!!

Golden Wedding Anniversary Card and Box Frame

Here is a 3D Box Photo Frame that I have made for my Mother and Father In Laws 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary which is in a few weeks time and a co-ordinating card to go with it.

I had the box frame from John Lewis quite a while ago and wondered when it could be useful.

I got a couple of old wedding photos and then layered up on some Stampin Up Mocha Morning and Naturals cardstock.  I then die cut some numbers and hearts to put the 50 in the top right corner and the year of their marriage in the bottom left corner.  I then added hearts in Mocha Morning and a dull gold paper I already had at the corners of the photos along with some Marianne Design die flourishes.

I didn't want to get too over embellished as I want them to be able to put it on the wall as a keepsake.

I then made a matching card using leftover bits of papers from the frame.

If anyone wants to buy these Stampin Up papers, I can soon put you in touch with a really good Stampin Up demonstrator.

Elephant with Flowers Birthday Girl

Here is a really cute card I made a while ago using a cute elephant stamp.  I think this may be Penny Black, but to be honest I am not 100% sure.

I stamped and coloured in with Promarkers.  I then distressed around the edge with Tim Holtz Distress pad.  I printed out some words and punched out and distressed this also.

I then layered this all up on a scalloped card from Craftwork Cards with a sheet from Nana's Nursery DCWV card/paper.  I then added a couple of leaf die cuts and a layered up flower embellishment with a pearl in the centre.

Penny Black Hedgehogs

Here is a really cute Penny Black Hedgehog stamped image.

I coloured this in with Promarkers and put some Glossy Accents on to the balloons.

The background papers are really old from the bottom of my stash.  I think they may have been ones from Smirk set.  It was then finished with a stamped Happy Birthday.  CAS I think.

Mo Manning - Kai in the Snow - Baby Birth Cards

Can't believe how long it has been since I blogged.  Really need to catch up.  Here are a couple of baby birth cards I made for some colleagues at work.  A girl and a boy card.  I really enjoyed marking these two cards, which are both 8x8” so fairly large size, which the Mo Manning Baby Kai in the snow digital image works well with as you can resize them to fit well within the card.  The first card uses some DCWV Nana’s Nursery papers mounted on Bazzill Basics coloured card.  A couple of buttons finish this off.  The card to the right uses First Edition Up and Away papers again layered on Bazzill Basics coloured card.  A simple punched border down the side with some Liquid Pearls dotted down it.  Both sentiments are typed and printed off the computer using fancy fonts.

LOTV Blossom - Retirement Card

Here is a card I have made for a colleague who is retiring in a few weeks time.

The card is DL in size and has some scraps of paper from my stash in the background, no idea what make they are, sorry.

The image is from LOTV and is called Blossom.  She is lovely to colour in as so simple.  I then used a sentiment from LOTV which was cut out and layered onto a woodware punched scallop circle.

The ribbon was a bit from my stock which I bought years ago in a sewing shop in Holt, Norfolk.  Sorry I don't know the name of the shop but it was amazing and was just next door to the Aga shop.

Mens Sports Cards

Here are a couple of cards I made from the John Byars for Docrafts Sports Stamp set.  This is one of my favourite sets for men as it has so many sports/activities in it.  I bought it from Crafters Cover a couple of years ago but they no longer appear to stock it, but I am sure you could get it elsewhere or on ebay.

I then used some paper I had from an old DCWV set and some card candy from Craftwork Cards.

Mo Manning - Baby Girl Card

Sorry I have been away so long, just not had the inspiration or time to blog.

Here today is a card I made ages ago for a friend's baby.

It uses the Mo Manning "Spit Happens" digi stamp and is combined with the LOTV sentiment set.  These were both coloured in with Promarkers.

The background papers are all DCWV either plain textured card and Nana's Nursery card.

A die cut flourish finishes it all off.

Mothers Day Card - Mum

Still trying to update my Blog with Mother's Day Cards.  This was one that I made for my Nephew's to give their Mum.

It is simply the Docrafts Mum stamp, coloured in with Promarkers and layered up on a deep purple/burgundy card and inverted corner punched.  A sliver of ribbon at the back and a knot in the corner finished it off.

Very simple.

Sarah Kay Autumnal Card

I made this card in the Autumn, just never got round to showing it on here.  This a very difficult and fiddly stamp to colour in butI think it is quite impressive when finished.

I coloured the card in with Promarkers and then added some beautiful Bo Bunny autumn papers to the background.  I layered all up on a golden card and added a couple of pumpkin metal corners, a LOTV sentiment and some gorgeous satin edged chiffon ribbon.

Purple Harlequin Blank Card

I fancied doing something a bit different recently so had a look through a friends stamps and found these two harlequin co-ordinated stamps, sorry no idea of the make.

I stamped the masked man onto the card and literally coloured him in in one colour with my Promarkers.  I then distressed around the edges with my Stampin Up purple pad.  I then stamped the harlequin checkered design onto a large sheet of white card which measured slight higher and a lot wider than my cut out image and stamped at the edge.  I then cut around the design and marked up on a card where this would sit.  I then stamped the same image directly onto the card and then added the image topper to it all. I am very impressed with the overall design and think it works well.

I also stamped the checkered design down one side of the inside of the card.

Thanks for looking

Selection of Carousel Pony Cards

Here are a selection of carousel ponies that I made using a fantastic free set of drawings from Beccys Place, she now has a shop which is just amazing.

The images were all coloured in with Promarkers and then the background papers were from an old set of Wild Rose Studios spotty papers.  The round sentiments are all LOTV and the Thank You one, I just have no idea where it came from, but is really pretty.  A few flowers and/or ribbon just finish it off.

Fizzy Moon Teddy Bear with Bouquet Birthday Card

Here is a Fizzy Moon birthday card I made using DCWV papers, layered on up Bazzill Basics cardstock.  I then stamped Fizzy Moon and coloured him in with Promarkers.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and then numerous flowers and leaves were punched out and layered on top.  A splash of ribbon across the bottom just finishes it off.

Mum's Birthday Card - Bright

A friend asked me to make a birthday card for her Mum and her is what I did.  I really wasn't sure about it as just a bit too bright for my liking, but she loved it.

The stamp is a Docrafts one and is layered up on one of the Kanban Stackers sheets.  These two things are a lifesaver when trying to do a card quick.

I then die cut the flowers from co-ordinating papers and layered up on a piece of DCWV paisley paper.  I then found a sheet of butterflies and added on onto the final design.

Kanban Rose Stamped Sympathy Card

I just adore this stamp.  It is one from a set of Kanban stamps, and is a really good large size.  The card I made is actually almost A5 in size, which shows the size of the stamp.

I coloured the stamped image with Promarkers and then layered up on some very old papers I found, seem to think they are K&Co.

I printed the sentiment off on the printer and then distressed it all with Tim Holtz distress inkpads.

Seems to all work well, which is pretty hard to achieve, in my opinion, for a sympathy card.

Mo Manning - Mum to Be Card

Here is a Mum to Be card for my friend Jennie.  This was made in an 8x8" style so that everyone at work could sign it.

The picture is called Mother to Be from Mo Manning and is a digital stamp so can be resized to the card you want to make, which is fab for making larger cards.  This was then coloured in with Promarkers.

The papers are from a DCWV Pad, Nanas Nursery I think, accompanied with some flourishes and flowers.

LOTV Glamorous Gardening Happy Birthday Card

Welcome back to me.  I haven't posted recently as spent a lot of time playing with my Stampin Up products, which are on a separate blog.

Anyway here goes......

This is a LOTV stamp, Glamorous Gardening, which is coloured in with Promarkers.  The papers used are from My Minds Eye, sorry don't know the name of them.  This was all layered up and an old sentiment stamp used with a double flower punched out of the same paper (Martha Stewart punch).

Stampin Up Demonstrator

I decided to take the plunge and signed up to be an Independent Demonstrator for Stampin Up so will no longer be posting much, if anything on this blog for a while.  Apparently I can't do both!!  I have therefore set up a new blog Bakewell Stampin Up Devotee where you will be able to buy things from me and also look at some samples of cards I have made using their products.

Wish me well.

Baby Girl Card - Little Grey Bunny

This card was one of a large order I made.

The only problem is I have no idea where the papers are from or the stamp.  The sentiment, however is a LOTV one, which is so usefully for baby cards and I use it on probably every other baby card I make.

Rocking Horse Baby Card - Boy

Today's card is done with my lovely Rocking Horse digi from Beccys Place and coloured with Promarkers.

This is then layered up on DCWV papers, pearl accents and a LOTV New Baby Boy sentiment.

Thinking of Doing Stampin Up Demonstrator - Any advice??

I went to a really good card making class yesterday for Stampin Up and thinking of buying the demonstrator kit for £120.  Don't really want to do any demonstrating or selling at parties but wonder if anyone has any advice on whether the kit is good, worth the price, etc.  Also does anyone just do direct selling with people contacting you locally to buy products from the catalogues?

Any help or advice on this would be brilliant.

I will upload some photos of the cards I made at the event later today.

Mo Manning - Its a Boy Card

Here is a card that I have made for my friend who is having a little baby boy in a couple of weeks.

The picture is from Mo Mannning and is called Spit Happens.    It is coloured in with Promarkers and then layered up using a fairly new pad I have from Bo Bunny called something like Home.  I covered up the words on the paper with the picture.  I then die cut some flowers from the same papers and also stamped and layered up some words.

LOTV Positively Pampered Birthday Card

Today's card (and entry into the new LOTV Challenge) is the Positively Pampered stamp from LOTV.

I stamped this image onto one of the Kanban stackers in a round style and then coloured in with Promarkers.  The background circle was stamped with a very old stamp (sorry I don't know whose it is) and then the front was distressed using black soot inkpad.

This was all layered up onto a Craftwork Cards easel card blank and then Magnolia red Christmas paper used as a background, layered on jet black card.

The LOTV sentiment placed on a layer of black and red ribbon finishes the card.

I absolutely loved this card and gave it to one of my crafting pals, as I knew she would appreciate the work that went into it.

Penny Black - Hedgehog Birthday Card

Here is a Penny Black hedgehog birthday card.

The card is coloured with Promarkers and some glossy accents on the balloons.  It then has some Smirk papers in the background, that I had left over.

Very simple card, no ribbons, flourishes or gems.

Penny Black - Large Tabby Cat Birthday Card

Today's card is a lovely Penny Black large tabby cat. I adore this image as it is a really big size.  I should have made this a Valentine's card but didn't and made it birthday instead.

The image as previously mentioned is Penny Black and I then used some old DCWV papers in the background and a couple of tags layered up for the sentiment.  Then a knotted bit of ribbon finished this off.

Not too detailed for a man's card, but really cute.

Molly Bloom Happy Birthday Boy Card

Here is a Molly Bloom card made using a free kit that was in a magazine ages ago.

The card is made using DCWV papers from with the image coloured with Promarkers.

Mo Manning - Sweet Baby Girl Card

Today's card is a lovely Mo Manning baby card.  We have had lots of babies born and due to be born at my work recently so I made loads of cards.  This is one of them.

I coloured the baby in using Promarkers and then used my DCWV Nana's Nursery papers in the girl range for the background (not sure if you can still get this paper) and a couple of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The wording is a rub on from a very old K&Co kit (I think).

Footballer Birthday Card - Mo Manning

This is a card I made for my nephew's 10th birthday.

I used a fab Mo Manning Digistamp coloured in with Promarkers and then included a couple of Man Utd logos onto it.

He loved the card, so must have done something right!

Penny Black - Little Mice Card

Here is today's card - it is a Penny Black stamp of little mice with flowers.  I made it very simple with a chipboard flourish on it and layered up on a pale lemon card.

Can be used for anything then.

Molly Bloom Farmyard with Barn and Cow - Birthday Card

Here is a card I made for my Dad's birthday, he is a farmer.

I used mainly Molly Bloom stamps on this, the farmyard with barn and the cow.  I am now sure if the grass bank is a Molly Bloom or a Magnolia, I can't remember.  The words are from a Lili of the Valley sentiment stamp.

All coloured in with Promarkers and a little run of wide brown sheer ribbon was run along the bottom.

My Dad loved this card, which was pretty amazing to come from a man, me thinks!!

LOTV Bunny with Balloon - Happy Birthday Card

This is my first post of the new year.  My new year's resolution will be to try and post a card each day, mmm will see how that gets on.

This card was made using Coredinations purple card with DCWV gingham/checked paper and the lovely LOTV Bunny with Balloon stamp coloured in with Promarkers and a flourish of ribbon and some pearls finishes it off.
